IMG_2425.JPG

My name is Dylan Burd, and I'm a recent graduate of Penn State University from Plainview, New York with the ultimate goal of working in the sports content industry. I'm a double major in Marketing with a sports focus and Broadcast Journalism. Additionally, I was in the John Curley School of Sports Journalism at Penn State.

Currently, I'm an On-Camera Personality/Sports Data Analyst for Vetri Media LLC. I have a weekly NFL Player Props show that goes on the Sal Vetri YouTube Channel, which has 36.3k subscribers. Additionally, I compile fantasy football research and data to be distributed to company patrons each week.

Simultaneously, I have my own YouTube Channel called Sports Burd, where I create, record, and edit videos on several different topics including March Madness, NBA Player Props, Golf DFS, Fantasy Football and more. I also host live streams on this channel, where I answer viewers' questions in the chat. The channel has grown to 635 subscribers and is rising.

During the summer of 2019, I worked as a Consumer Sales & Service intern with the New York Jets. Throughout my time with the organization, I worked in CRM applications such as Archtics in order to aid the Consumer Sales & Service department monitor season ticket holder interactions. Additionally, I helped to run training camp events ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 people. I also analyzed fan response on social media platforms to several different team actions regarding the roster, the coaching staff, mobile ticketing, and Jets Rewards.

I’ve worked with five different sports websites throughout my time in college, including a website that I created myself called Sportsburd.com. The website mostly covered the NBA Draft, College Basketball and Fantasy Football and got 31,000 views within its first full year of publication. To go along with the website, I started a Twitter account, @Sports_Burd, with 3,400+ followers. Tweets have gone on to be used on notable platforms such as Bleacher Report’s Team Steam and USA Today’s For The Win.

In summer 2018, I worked as an assistant editor and blogger for HashSports.com, a start-up sports website. I was “Blogger of the Month” at Hash Sports for four consecutive months, and also aided with social platforms and merchandise ideas in addition to editing and blogging. I also contributed to a Fansided affiliated Penn State sports website called VictoryBellRings.com for two years, where I wrote articles about Penn State football and basketball. I’ve also live-tweeted Penn State basketball games through Victory Bell Rings’ verified Twitter account.

In December 2019, I began contributing to the TheKnicksWall.com, a Knicks fan website. At The Knicks Wall, I currently write biweekly featured articles on different topics regarding the current affairs of the teams. Also, I write approximately three game previews/recap per month.

Furthermore, I was a blog intern for NBADraft.net, one of the most prominent NBA Draft websites on the internet. For NBADraft.net, I write weekly blogs ranking the NBA’s best rookies and sophomores. I’ve also written more creative pieces for NBADraft.net such as an NBA All Star Mock Draft, and NBA Award Predictions.

In terms of other extra curricular work, I co-hosted a live Bracketology show for Penn State Comm Radio last year. To add, I currently co-host a Survivor podcast called the Sole Survivor Podcast, which is available on platforms such as YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The podcast has grownto over 360 YouTube subscribers, and a high-rank of No. 92 in the category of After Shows on Apple Podcasts in the U.S. We've also been featured on The Russell Hantz Show three times, and had multiple former Survivor players on our podcast.
