The Sole Survivor Podcast

Survivors Ready.jpg

In September 2019, during the start of Season 39 I started my own Survivor podcast. Survivor is one of my favorite shows on TV, so after each episode my co-hosts and I do a live recap of the show and give insights and analysis on what may happen going forward. The Sole Survivor Podcast is on streaming platforms, such as YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify. Once Season 40 started in February, the podcast grew exponentially. We collaborated with one of the most famous Survivor players of all-time, Russell Hantz, by creating a 68-person bracket to determine the greatest ever. The fans voted over a two-week span, where we made multiple appearances on The Russell Hantz Show. Additionally, we had multiple guests on the podcast, including one of the most popular players ever, Kelley Wentworth, and Season 36 runner-up Domenick Abbate. This helped us to reach as high as No. 92 in the U.S. in the "After Shows" category on Apple Podcasts. We might be in the offseason now, but we're still growing and producing more content than ever.

Bracketology with Dylan Burd and DJ Bauer

In March 2019, I co-hosted a live Bracketology show in the week leading up to the NCAA Tournament. My co-host and I each are big into projecting the NCAA Tournament field, so we created a show for it. I helped to create schedule for the show, and prepared with a ton of research and statistics. My actual Bracketology was done on my website, SportsBurd.com, and I was part of the Bracket Matrix, a website that compiles nearly 200 different brackets on the internet to create one projection. Once the real bracket was released, I finished 22nd out of 195 people in terms of the projections I made. I projected the bracket better than notable media outlets such as FOX and CBS.
